Paying It Forward
"Paying it forward" has to be one of the best feelings ever. That feeling of helping someone out like someone helped you, it's just such a heart-felt feeling. I had to opportunity to help a girl that I work with on the radio show get an internship at E!. I had the opportunity to take this internship about a month ago but with my school situation, which is a story in its own, I was unable to work with them. My friend called me and asked if I could give her any advice or help her out in any way. My friend Chelsea has really helped me out and actually helped me get the internship at Hollywire.com. I knew how exciting it was to be a part of the entertainment world so I really wanted to help this girl out in some way. So, I sent out an e-mail to this woman named Grace who works at E!, asking if my friend could send her resume to her. Grace was so nice and was more than willing to help her out. My friend was so excited, as was I when I had the opportunity to work with E!.
The best part about this situation is there is not one ounce of jealously or envy that I have towards it. I think of it this way: 1. I had someone help me out and I wanted to be that person to help another, 2. she may repay me someday! What if she gets a job there and then she can help me out! haha 3. I geniunely want to see this girl succeed. She's extrememly talented and I want to see her go far.
So the sum this whole story up, my friend is currently awaiting a call from E!, which could happen today because when I sent my resume in, they called shortly after they received it. Also, if something amazing happens to you, pass it on in someway. Not only will it have that same affect on someone, but it will leave you with that warm, fuzzy feeling in your heart. And who doesn't love that?

Lovey Dovey
I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. Question of the Week
Taylor Swift. Quick question for you. Are you in my mind? Serious question though guys! Why does it always seem like every song that Taylor writes, just about everybody can relate too? It's almost like she goes into your mind, picks about her thoughts, puts them together, throws some good music to it and says "Hey Ciara! I made you a little present and it's perfectly wrapped in greatness." And then when you listen to it, you're like "Hey! Wait a second! I was just thinking about why 'this person' was acting this. Thanks Taylor!" Sometimes I wondering if I should send her a thank-you note..
So my question again is, Taylor, are you reading my diary or something? I mean, I'm not complaining. Just a little curious. But you keep reading if you would like. You're helping me out more than you would think.
Maybe it has to do with her being so young -- she's 20 just so you know -- and being so super talented. Granted, she may not be the Mariah Carey of our generation, but that girl can write! She wrote her new album Speak Now completely by herself, without any co-writers or anything. That's so rare! It seems like nobody does that anymore.
I know from personal experience that when I've had a bad day or boy issues especially, when I turn on my iPod, there's always some Swift tune that when I listen to it, my first reaction "Exactly! I know exactly what you mean, Taylor!" Now, I don't say that out loud because imagine how weird that would look walking through campus.

Like I mentioned in my very first post telling you guys about me, I'm currently an intern for Hollywire.com. What I wanted to do was share the stories I write for the website right here on the blog! Feel free to express your opinions because I would love to hear what you guys think!
I've been writing for the website since August so I'm just going to start with the article I wrote today. So here it is!
Weekly PSA
Anybody that knows me, knows that I'm in love with the television The Buried Life. There's just something about these four 20-something, good looking guys that captures my attention every Monday night -- and usually every other night during the week. Their humorous adventures they get themselves into keeps my entertained from beginning to end. But there's a certain part of the show that pulls at my heart strings and that's their good deeds. From Ben Nemtin's mouth "With everything we cross off on our list, we help a stranger do something on theirs." It just shows that these guys are not only ambitious and devoted, but they are thoughtful and caring as well.
Anyways, enough about my love for the show. The whole reason I brought The Buried Life up is because on tonight's episode, after they steal a lock of Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson's hair (yes, you heard me right), Ben heads to Rochester, Minnesota to help out a girl named Lexie who struggles with depression. The guys partnered up with the To Write Love On Her Arms campaign and brought awareness to the subject.
I personally have had someone very very close to me deal with depression, and it currently still dealing. It's a subject that that certain person has said, "Unless you've been through it, you won't understand." And they are right. I know me and other people have tried their absolute hardest to put themselves in that person's shoes and try and see life through their eyes. But like I said, unless you've personally dealt with it, you'll never know the extreme.
The reason I'm writing about this is because with The Buried Life episode coming up, it's almost like it brought the subject back to my attention. Now, I'm not saying that I completely forgot about it and just decided not to care anymore. It was the type of thing that me and other certain people close to me thought that if we didn't talk about it, it would go away. And I'm tell you right now, THAT'S NOT TRUE. This is a very serious topic and while some people think that it's just someone who is basically just having a "bad day" and they'll get over it, it can be a lot more serious than that.
If someone you know is suffering with depression, PLEASE do anything you can to help them. Show them support, show them how much you love and care for them, be there to listen to them when they need you, or maybe if they don't even want to talk. You never know, just being there could make the biggest difference.

A Little About Me
The whole reason I decided to start a blog came when I was procrastinating doing my homework -- which trust me, happens A LOT -- and I was looking at different blogs floating around cyber space. My personal favorites were the ones that we're just simple. The ones that had the daily quotes that made you smile, the ones that had the quirky posts that made you laugh, the ones that had the music or movies everybody should see, and the ones that had the fashion that I just died to wear. So, that's when I decided that I wanted a little space to call my own. A space where I could write down my thoughts, my feelings, my dreams, and my experiences that came about in my day-to-day life. So, before I start exploring this world (and bare with me since I don't really know what I'm doing and my posts my be a little boring to you :) ), I want to start by introducing myself and let you, the readers, know a little bit about myself. So here it goes:
My name is Ciara and I grew up in a tiny little town in Michigan. And when I say tiny, I'm talking SUPER tiny. Want me to paint you a picture? I graduated from high school with 17 people. Got it? Okay, moving on. I'm currently a senior in college majoring in broadcast and cinematic arts with a minor in journalism. Believe me, it's a extremely fun field to go into, but also a TON of work and dedication. But since it's something I'm passionate about, all that time and effort is completely worth it in the end. I'm currently an intern for the entertainment news website Hollywire.com and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
Now, onto my dreams! I'm OBSESSED with the whole entertainment world. I love the celebrity lifestyle and everything that goes along with it. I love watching red carpet events on television, I love reading all the latest celebrity gossip and whether or not Lindsay Lohan is really going to jail or not, I love the glitz and glamour that is Hollywood. I live and breathe entertainment. Now, this may sound just a tad bit pathetic to those who don't understand, but I don't even care. It's who I am and I love that. I think it's very rare that people actually know exactly what they want to do with their life at a young age. I knew I wanted to go into entertainment broadcasting for a while now. Okay, that's enough rambling.
Now that you guys understand a little bit about me, I hope you enjoy your stay here! Again, this is my first blog and I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want this look/be like. But I hope it's a place where I can get all my thoughts out and where you either enjoy reading what I have to say or you can relate to me in some small way. :)
